Authorities say a blown out tire was the cause of a rollover incident that happened on Wednesday, September 24, approximately four miles south of Tonasket on SR97, the Gazette Tribune reported.

A report by Washington State Patrol Trooper Lovell stated that at around 6:30 a.m. a pickup truck was traveling northbound when the tire gave out, causing the vehicle to hit the guardrail and flip before plunging into an embankment.

19-year-old driver Thomas Silverthorn of Tonasket and his passenger, 21-year-old Tyler Armstrong of Oroville, were rushed by ambulance to North Valley Hospital in Tonasket for their injuries. Both were wearing seat belts when the incident occurred.
