Twenty-one people were rushed to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries after the charter bus they occupied rolled over in the southbound lanes of I-65 in southern, WDRB reported on March 12.
At around 11 a.m., an Excursions Trailways charter bus was heading south carrying 16 students from Indiana Tech and four Indiana Tech representatives when the bus veered towards the east side of the road and into the median. The bus corrected and turned west, crossing over both southbound lanes before leaving the roadway. The bus rolled over as it hit an embankment on the west side of the road.
Officials from Indiana Tech stated that of the 21 people transported to three different hospitals, two of them were in serious condition with possible concussions and a fractured pelvis and wrist.
Investigators are still attempting to determine the cause of the incident.
